Introduction

This report outlines the progress and major activities at Asian World School, Baradwar, during the 2023-24 academic session. The school focused on holistic development, encouraging students to excel in academics and participate in co-curricular activities. April 2023 – June 2023

  • New Academic Session Kick-off (April 4, 2023): The new session began with an orientation for students and teachers. Students were welcomed with special assemblies focusing on positive habits, school goals, and academic targets for the year.
  • Special Assemblies & Celebrations:
    • Ambedkar Jayanti and Baisakhi Celebration (April 14, 2023): A special assembly was conducted, focusing on Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions to society and the importance of cultural festivities like Baisakhi.
    • Mahavir Jayanti (April 4, 2023) and Good Friday (April 7, 2023): Students participated in activities related to these important religious events, promoting values of peace, respect, and unity.
  • Extracurricular Activities:
    • Frame Decoration Activity (April): To engage students in creative arts, a frame decoration competition was organized.
  • Summer Vacation (April 24 – June 24, 2023): Students went on a well-deserved break after initial academic weeks. During this period:
    • Summer Camps were held with fun learning activities.
    • Teachers participated in a Faculty Development Programme in June to upgrade their skills.
  • Teacher Reporting and School Reopening: Teachers returned on June 24, and the school reopened on July 3 to start the second quarter.

July 2023 – September 2023

  • School Reopens (July 3, 2023): Students resumed classes with refreshed energy. The emphasis was on revisiting concepts taught before the break and preparing for the first round of assessments.
  • Investiture Ceremony (July 2023): Student council members were officially appointed, fostering leadership and responsibility among students.
  • Periodic Test 1 (July 2023): The first round of periodic tests for Grades 1 to 7 began in July, covering key subjects. This test provided valuable feedback on student performance and areas that needed improvement.
  • Special Events & Competitions:
    • Vande Mataram Tricolour Activity (August 14, 2023): In the lead-up to Independence Day, students participated in a tricolour activity to understand the significance of the national flag and patriotism.
    • Raksha Bandhan Activity (August 29, 2023): Students celebrated the bond of love and protection by making handmade rakhis.
    • English Storytelling and Puppet Show (August 2023): Encouraging language development and creativity, students were engaged in storytelling and puppet performances.
  • Celebrations & Holidays:
    • Independence Day (August 15, 2023): Celebrated with a grand parade, speeches, and cultural performances.
    • Raksha Bandhan (August 30, 2023): Students took part in creative activities like making rakhis and understanding the festival’s cultural importance.
  • Half-Yearly Examinations (September 2023): Comprehensive evaluations were conducted to assess the academic progress of students in key subjects across all grades.

October 2023 – December 2023

  • Navratri and Dussehra Celebrations (October 2023): The students participated in thematic assemblies and performances based on Ramayana, promoting Indian cultural values.
  • Half-Yearly Exams Continuation (October 2023): Students completed their mid-term exams and received feedback during Parent-Teacher Meetings.
  • Special Assemblies & Competitions:
    • Diwali Deepotsav and Rangoli Competition (October 2023): Students participated in a festive competition celebrating Diwali with creative rangolis and diya-making activities.
    • Annual Sports Day (November 2023): Held in mid-November, the event focused on various athletic activities, promoting physical fitness and teamwork.
  • Holidays & Breaks:
    • Diwali Break (November 10-14, 2023): Students had a break to celebrate the festival of lights with their families.
    • Winter Vacation (December 29, 2023 – January 1, 2024): A short break to mark the end of the year and new beginnings in 2024.

January 2024 – March 2024

  • Republic Day Celebrations (January 26, 2024): The school celebrated Republic Day with patriotic performances, speeches, and a flag-hoisting ceremony.
  • Progressive Assessment-III (February 2024): The third round of progressive assessments was conducted to evaluate academic progress across all grades.
  • Co-curricular Highlights:
    • Fireless Cooking Competition (February 2024): Students learned about healthy eating and sustainability through this fun and engaging activity.
    • Fancy Dress Competition (March 2024): Themed around “Our National Heroes,” students came dressed as their favorite national leaders, reinforcing lessons of patriotism and service.
  • Annual Examinations (March 2024): The academic session culminated with the annual exams for Grades 1 to 7. Students were evaluated on their year-long academic journey.
